By the end of the workshop, participants will develop and film their own scene from start to finish while specializing in one of the filmmaking roles.(Ages 13 - 17)Kostya is an award-winning filmmaker, educator, and founder of the inaugural Forks Film Festival coming to Grand Forks in Fall 2026. Over the years, he has worked on film sets in Vancouver across multiple aspects of the film production pipeline, including the lighting department and directing, while also creating and directing his own independent film projects.Storytelling, community education, and championing local voices are at the heart of his work. Kostya has led filmmaking workshops with youth in both Vancouver and Christina Lake, including workshops as part of Project Imagination, where students collaboratively developed an original story and then helped bring it to life alongside a professional film crew.Through these workshops, his goal is to create a welcoming and creative environment where participants can explore filmmaking, discover their voice through storytelling, and gain confidence bringing local stories and ideas to life on screen.GFAG members are eligible to purchase 2 tickets at the member price.
